Recruitment of Dongjak-gu Resident Participation Auditors

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dongjak-gu (Mayor Changwoo Lee) is recruiting the 5th term of Resident Participation Auditors until May 14 to protect residents' rights and enhance administrative transparency.

The Resident Participation Auditors system involves direct participation in practical audits such as the district's own audits to improve administrative transparency and prevent corruption in advance.

With a two-year term and one possible renewal, the auditors perform tasks such as ▲proposing and suggesting solutions for residents' inconveniences ▲supervising and inspecting construction closely related to residents' lives ▲requesting improvements on other matters requiring administrative attention.

This year, a total of 16 people will be recruited, including 10 in general fields and 6 in specialized fields.

Applicants for the general field must be residents aged 19 or older living in the area or working at a business site, willing to participate in district development, and possessing rich insight and experience in administration.

For specialized fields (architecture, law, supervision, etc.), applicants must be ▲technicians with a supervisor-level qualification or higher ▲retired public officials of grade 6 or above (with more than 10 years of experience in the architecture field) ▲residents with professional qualifications such as lawyers, accountants, or tax accountants.

Residents wishing to participate can download the application form from the district website, fill it out, and submit it by visiting or mailing it to the Audit Office (☎820-1152), or by emailing the person in charge at ekdlwl@dongjak.go.kr.

The district will make the final selection through document screening and evaluation by a review committee based on criteria such as ▲expertise ▲major experience (participation in district administration, volunteer work, etc.) ▲fairness.

Audit Officer Jaecheon Yoo said, "We expect that the operation of Resident Participation Auditors, where residents directly participate in administration, will realize more transparent and fair administration," and added, "We hope for the interest and participation of many residents."

The district is promoting various integrity policies to enhance administrative transparency and prevent corruption in advance, including ▲sending integrity text messages at each work stage ▲expanding integrity monitoring ▲operating a task force team to improve integrity.
