KAMCO Launches Online Auction Consultation Chatbot Service 'Ondabi'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kwon Haeyoung] Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO) launched the online consultation chatbot service 'Ondabi' on the 27th through the online auction system Onbid for the disposal of public assets.

Ondabi is a 24-hour real-time consultation chatbot that combines artificial intelligence technology with 540,000 Onbid customer consultation data accumulated by KAMCO over many years. It is available on the Onbid website and the mobile app 'Smart Onbid.'

By entering question types or keywords in Ondabi, users can receive various information such as membership registration procedures and how to participate in bidding. Ondabi's voice recognition feature is also expected to improve service accessibility for the elderly who are vulnerable to using digital devices.

KAMCO plans to gradually expand the scope of online consultation by linking public auction item information registered on Onbid, such as location, usage status, and bidding period, with Ondabi.

Recently, the auction market through KAMCO Onbid has been active. Onbid is a system that allows the entire public auction process, from item inspection to bid submission and bid result confirmation, to be handled non-face-to-face. Due to the spread of untact (non-face-to-face) transactions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, approximately 30,000 items were bid through Onbid in the first quarter of this year alone.

In the auction of 146 apartment units under the public institution sale 'Hope Rental REITs' conducted by KAMCO on the 20th, 22,000 people participated. This contrasts with the auction market contraction caused by the prolonged court recess due to the spread of COVID-19.

Baewonseop, head of KAMCO Onbid Business Division, said, "KAMCO has been striving to improve Onbid services by developing Smart Onbid, renovating the Onbid website, and launching the consultation chatbot for the convenience of Onbid users." He added, "We will continue to upgrade the Onbid system and services so that customers can trade public assets safely and conveniently."
