[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] Popular pharmacist YouTuber 'Yakkooreuteu' (real name Park Seung-jong), who has over 240,000 subscribers, has been embroiled in a privacy controversy.
On the 24th, a post titled "Exposing pharmacist YouTuber OOOO" was uploaded on an online community.
The author of the post, A, stated, "Last July, while exchanging Instagram DMs with that person (Yakkooreuteu), he asked to meet me. After coming to my house, he ignored my refusal to have relations without contraception and just had relations with me."
She added, "We were not dating, but he slept with me once a week," and "I thought things might change if I tried harder, so I kept seeing (Yakkooreuteu)."
However, A said she heard from Yakkooreuteu that she might have herpes. Later, A was diagnosed positive for herpes simplex virus type 2, which is sexually transmitted.
A explained, "It is a virus that cannot be eliminated for life, so you have to live with it in your body," and "When immunity drops, blisters appear on the genitals, and you have to manage it with medication for life."
A later became distant from Yakkooreuteu, but he came to her house again and they had relations once more.
A lamented, "The fact that he continued relations without any minimal safety measures despite knowing he had an STD, did not inform me beforehand, avoided responsibility after transmitting the disease, abandoned me, and even after returning, treated me merely as a tool for sex and used me for his own pleasure is a wound to my heart more painful than the physical damage."
She added, "I hope he feels at least some shame. If he truly cared about women's health and people's health as a pharmacist, I hope he lives with some sense of shame."
Meanwhile, 'Yakkooreuteu' is a YouTube channel launched in November 2018 that delivers lifestyle habits, supplements, and health information. In the past, the Yakkooreuteu YouTuber appeared on MBC variety shows and currently has a regular spot on a radio program.
