"I heard it's fake news"
"I hope you're not in a hospital bed"
[Asia Economy New York=Correspondent Baek Jong-min] U.S. President Donald Trump denied CNN's report that North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un is in critical condition following surgery, calling it fake news.
On the 23rd (local time), during a briefing of the COVID-19 task force, President Trump was asked, "You say you have a good relationship with Chairman Kim; have you contacted him?" He replied, "CNN's report is not accurate. They have used old documents before. I heard it is fake news. I hope it is fake news." President Trump also added, "I hope he is doing well."
In response to another reporter's question about Chairman Kim's condition, he said, "I hope he is not bedridden. I have gotten along well with him. I do not want to be the world's policeman."
President Trump limited further questions about Kim Jong-un, expressing irritation by saying, "CNN makes fake news," and indicating he would not comment further.
