[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Yeon-ju] The YouTube channel 'Garosero Research Institute' (Gaseyeon) has become the center of controversy for unauthorized use of a photo of Nayeon, a member of the group TWICE, in a video alleging manipulation of early voting in the April 15 general election.

On the 21st, Gaseyeon uploaded a video titled "Shocking Exclusive, Early Voting Manipulation Suspicions Regarding Future United Party Lawmakers. Please Be Brave."

The thumbnail of the video included photos of lawmakers Min Kyung-wook and Kim Jin-tae along with Nayeon's photo. In particular, Nayeon's photo was overlaid with phrases such as "Please Be Brave" and "CHEER UP," making it appear related to the video, which has intensified the controversy.

TWICE fans who saw this expressed discomfort, saying that Nayeon was being dragged into a political issue. Comments on the video and posts on TWICE fan cafe boards include complaints such as "Remove Nayeon from the thumbnail," "Don't use her image carelessly," and "Please don't involve her."

Conservative YouTubers who subscribe to the channel also commented under the video, saying things like "Why include Nayeon?" and "It would be better to remove Nayeon's photo."

Despite these criticisms, Gaseyeon has taken no action and continues to use the thumbnail featuring Nayeon's photo.

Meanwhile, Gaseyeon gained attention last year by raising allegations of sexual assault against singer Kim Gun-mo. Since then, Gaseyeon has faced public backlash for unverified expos?s related to the entertainment industry.
