Damyang-gun Recruiting Participants for 'Jeonnam Youth Startup and Job-Seeking Activity Allowance Support Project'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Damyang-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Choi Hyung-sik) announced on the 22nd that it is recruiting young people to participate in the ‘Jeonnam Youth Startup Support Project’ and the ‘Jeonnam Youth Job-Seeking Activity Allowance Support Project’ aimed at creating jobs for youth.

The Jeonnam Youth Startup Support Project is a program in which nine cities and counties within Jeonnam jointly discover and support young merchants by providing startup education and startup support funds, with the county supporting 10 young people among them.

Applicants must be young people aged 18 to 39 who are preparing to start a business and are not enrolled in employment insurance. They must fill out an application form and submit it to the Jeollanam-do Environmental Industry Promotion Agency by the 13th of next month.

Youth seeking employment can receive job-seeking activity expenses of up to 500,000 KRW per month for up to six months through the Jeonnam Youth Job-Seeking Activity Allowance Support Project.

Eligible participants are young people aged 18 to 34 residing in Jeonnam, whose final school graduation, completion, or withdrawal occurred more than two years ago, and whose income is below 150% of the median income standard.

Youth wishing to participate in the project can apply through the Jeollanam-do Integrated Job Information Network website by the 6th of next month.

A county official said, “The county is promoting many projects to improve the employment rate of young people,” adding, “We hope this will help many young people in a situation where the local employment market has shrunk due to the spread of COVID-19.”
