[Asia Economy Intern Reporter Kim Seul-gi] Kim Yujin PD, the fianc?e of Chef Lee Won-il who is appearing on MBC variety show 'If You’re Jealous, You Lose' (Bureopji), has been accused of committing school violence against peers in New Zealand in the past.
On the 21st, a post titled "'Bureopji' Celebrity Lookalike Fianc?e PD is a Perpetrator of Group Assault" was uploaded on an online community.
The author of the post said, "These days, the fianc?e of a star chef appears frequently not only on various variety shows but also on the main pages of portal sites, and she will likely have a bright future ahead. On the other hand, I tried hard to forget and thought I had finally overcome the trauma," adding, "However, I could no longer endure how often I would have to see this person on TV and the internet, so I decided to write this post."
The author claimed, "When I was 16 years old in 2008, I was subjected to group assault by this famous fianc?e PD in Auckland, New Zealand."
The author said, "It has been over 10 years, and recalling it is painful, but the victim suffers from trauma and lives in hiding while the perpetrator lives confidently in society. I am disgusted and decided to revive the memory and write about what happened back then."
He said, "There is a square called 'Aotea' in Auckland, New Zealand. The fianc?e PD was walking wearing slippers, then took off her slippers and hit me with them until I fell to the ground, and even after I fell, she struck me multiple times."
He continued, "Afterwards, we went into a karaoke room where 8 to 10 perpetrators took turns singing, and while one was singing, I was subjected to group assault by the others on various parts of my body including my head, abdomen, and thighs," adding, "While being beaten by the group, one perpetrator hit my ear hard, causing a sudden 'beep' sound and hearing loss. When I said, 'I can't hear that sound,' they mocked me saying, 'She says she can't hear,' and all burst into loud laughter. I cannot forget those people."
He went on, "In the karaoke room, the fianc?e PD hit my crying head, pushed my face, lowered my head to look at me, and sarcastically said, 'Hey, are you crying? Why are you crying? What did you do well to cry?'" adding, "I repeat, the fianc?e PD was definitely there at that place."
The author said, "The reason I was assaulted was simple," and "I had to be beaten because I said bad things about B, the boyfriend of the fianc?e PD."
The author also revealed KakaoTalk messages exchanged with acquaintances who knew about the assault at the time and apology messages from the perpetrators of the group assault.
The author said, "As time passed and everyone became adults, most of the perpetrators approached me first and sincerely apologized, but the ringleader, the fianc?e PD, never apologized to me," adding, "I thought I had erased those memories and overcome the trauma, but now whenever I turn on the TV or computer, I see that woman’s face."
The fianc?e PD mentioned in the post is presumed to be Kim Yujin PD, the girlfriend of Chef Lee Won-il. Previously, the chef revealed in an interview with a media outlet that Kim PD studied in New Zealand. The chef and Kim PD originally planned to marry this month but postponed the wedding once to August due to the impact of the novel coronavirus infection.
