WHO: "No Evidence COVID-19 Was Manipulated in a Laboratory... Originated from Animals"

[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] The World Health Organization (WHO) stated that there is no evidence that the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was artificially manipulated or created in a laboratory, according to major foreign media reports on the 20th (local time).

According to the reports, Fadela Chaib, WHO spokesperson, attended a press conference held at the United Nations (UN) Geneva office on the same day and said, "All evidence suggests that this virus originated from animals and was not manipulated or created in laboratories or elsewhere."

Spokesperson Chaib added, "It is certain that there was an intermediate animal host before the (COVID-19) virus was transmitted to humans."
