[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] NexGen Graphene Polymers (CEO Choi Jin-young) announced on the 20th that it has filed patents related to the new material graphene in both the United States and Korea. NexGen Graphene Polymers, in collaboration with A1 Green Tech in the U.S., filed two patents in the United States concerning the 'Manufacturing facility for graphene or carbon material-polymer resin composites / manufacturing facility for wood plastic resin composites equipped with microwave and gas removal devices.' Domestically, it filed a patent independently for the 'Manufacturing facility for graphene or carbon material-polymer resin composites.'
The technology patented by NexGen Graphene Polymers efficiently removes moisture, gases, and low-molecular impurities contained during the extrusion process of mixing graphene or carbon materials with polymer resin, and allows uniform dispersion within the polymer resin without using dispersants or other additives. Through this, it is possible to manufacture graphene or carbon material-polymer resin composites whose physical properties of molded products are not degraded.
Additionally, a patent was filed for technology related to facilities that manufacture eco-friendly wood plastic resin composites. Choi Jin-young, CEO of NexGen Graphene Polymers, stated, "A1 Green Tech, which co-filed the patent in the U.S., has been designated by the state government of LA as a waste PET recycling business operator and is commercializing the technology, so the patent holds significant value. The technology to evenly disperse and synthesize small amounts of graphene is absolutely crucial for the commercialization of graphene, and with this patented technology, we can secure both quality and price competitiveness simultaneously."
