US Chef and Influencer Fall for CJ's 'Bibigo Mandu'... Recommended Home Meal Menu

Famous American Chef and SNS Influencer Recommend Special 'Bibigo Dumplings' to Enjoy at Home

US Chef and Influencer Fall for CJ's 'Bibigo Mandu'... Recommended Home Meal Menu

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] As the demand for home-cooked meals increases worldwide, American food influencers are gaining attention by recommending 'Bibigo Mandu' as a home meal menu. Introducing it as 'Mandu' instead of 'Dumpling' reflects a growing awareness of K-food (Korean food wave) in the United States.

According to CJ CheilJedang on the 20th, George Duran, a popular American chef and entertainer who has hosted numerous cooking programs, appeared on local TV and radio stations such as WUSA and WPHL at the end of last month, recommending Bibigo Mandu as a 'special Easter menu to enjoy with family.'

George Duran reportedly became an enthusiastic fan of Bibigo after first encountering Bibigo Mandu during the Bibigo New York pop-up store event held for local media in January.

Among various recommended menus, he introduced Bibigo Mandu first, stating that the high-quality meat and the chewiness of the vegetables are the reasons he likes Bibigo Mandu. He also explained various cooking methods such as pan-frying, steaming, and soup, and recommended Bibigo Gochujang BBQ sauce for those who want to experience a special flavor.

Content from mukbang creator Jeremy Jacobowitz, who visited the Bibigo pop-up store at Rockefeller Center in Manhattan, New York, and uploaded tasting videos, is also popular.

A former food program PD and currently an Instagram star with over 450,000 followers, he actively introduced K-food to his subscribers by tasting popular menus such as Bibigo Mandu, Dakgangjeong, Japchae, and Bibim Gimbap. Especially during the tasting, he emphasized the charm of the sweet and spicy gochujang while sweating from its spiciness and encouraged viewers to enjoy it at home as well.

A CJ CheilJedang official said, “As K-food gains popularity in the U.S. and demand for home-cooked meals increases, the representative Korean food brand ‘Bibigo’ is being introduced through various channels. We will continue to lead efforts to promote Korean food culture, including native Korean food terms such as mandu and gochujang, by showcasing excellent products and enhancing the status of K-food.”
