[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Hoban Group announced on the 20th that it conducted the 'Pa'ighting (Eating) campaign to support green onion farmers facing difficulties due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

This campaign was named 'Pa'ighting, created from the ideas of employees. It combines the Korean word for green onion 'Pa' and the English word 'eating,' conveying encouragement to help farmers by promoting green onion consumption.

Daea Produce, an agricultural wholesale corporation affiliated with Hoban Group, secured about 10,000 bundles of green onions from green onion farms and supplied them to Hoban Construction, Hoban Industry, Avenue Franc, Hoban Hotel & Resort, and Hoban Golf affiliated corporations. Avenue Franc provided the supplied green onions and winter radishes free of charge to food stores located in Pangyo, Gwanggyo, and Gwangmyeong branches, and also held a green onion sharing event via drive-thru for shopping mall visitors. Additionally, Hoban Hotel & Resort (Forest Resort, Spa Castle Resort) and Hoban Golf affiliates (Sky Valley CC, Deokpyeong CC, Seo Seoul CC) conducted green onion and green onion oil sharing events for visitors to their stores.

The Hoban Group Social Contribution Committee, in cooperation with Seocho-gu, where Hoban headquarters is located, delivered about 2,000 bundles of green onions to local food banks and also distributed green onions to headquarters employees on their way home.

Woo Hyunhee, Director of the Taeseong Cultural Foundation of Hoban Group, said, "We hope this will be a small help to farmers struggling due to COVID-19," and added, "We hope that continuous interest and a culture of donation will expand throughout our society in the future."
