[Asia Economy Reporter Yang Nak-gyu] The Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital has been temporarily closed. This measure was taken after a suspected case of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) was identified.
On the 20th, the Ministry of National Defense stated, "Four medical personnel treating confirmed COVID-19 patients showed suspected symptoms of COVID-19 yesterday and were quarantined. So far, all have tested negative in the second round of tests."
The military authorities are conducting PCR (polymerase chain reaction) tests on the medical staff suspected of infection. The military will take additional measures based on the final judgment from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency.
The Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital, designated as an infectious disease specialized hospital, is currently treating confirmed COVID-19 patients.
