Seocho District Council Holds the 296th Extraordinary Session to Prepare Supplementary Budget for Overcoming COVID-19

Scheduled Review of the 2020 First Supplementary Budget and Fund Operation Plan Changes...Formation and Appointment of Members of the Special Budget and Accounts Committee (Chairman Park Jinam)

[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] The Seocho District Council (Chairperson An Jongsuk) will hold the 296th extraordinary session for eight days from the 17th to the 24th.

In the opening address at the opening ceremony held on the 17th, Chairperson An Jongsuk said, "It is fortunate that the spread of COVID-19 is entering a stabilization phase. This was based on the sacrifices of the residents who silently endured the inconveniences of daily life and the tearful efforts of medical staff and related public officials," expressing gratitude and encouragement to many who have dedicated themselves.

She continued, "The supplementary budget review during this eight-day extraordinary session will prioritize pinpoint measures for severely affected sectors while carefully supporting vulnerable groups. Additionally, to dispel concerns about fiscal soundness, we will meticulously examine spending priorities to avoid unnecessary expenses."

Finally, she concluded her opening remarks by saying, "There is opportunity in every difficulty. We must gather the wisdom of all 450,000 Seocho residents to find ways to turn this crisis into an opportunity and prepare for the post-COVID era. I hope that we will overcome this COVID-19 situation as soon as possible and enjoy truly happy days with our families in May, the month of family."

At the first plenary session, there was a proposal explanation from the Director of the Planning and Finance Bureau regarding ▲ the 2020 first supplementary general and special account revenue and expenditure budget of Seocho District, Seoul Metropolitan City, and ▲ the 2020 fund operation plan change of Seocho District, Seoul Metropolitan City.

Meanwhile, to review the supplementary budget and other matters, a special budget and settlement committee was formed, electing Councilor Park Jinam as chairman and Councilor Kim Seongju as vice chairman.
