[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seok-jin] The prosecution has requested an arrest warrant for a former Blue House administrative officer suspected of being involved in covering up the Lime Asset Management scandal.

According to the prosecution on the 18th, the Criminal Division 6 of the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Jo Sang-won) filed an arrest warrant on the same day for Kim, a former Blue House administrative officer (46), who was arrested the previous day on charges of bribery and leaking official secrets under the Act on the Aggravated Punishment of Specific Crimes.

Kim is accused of receiving bribes worth approximately 49 million won from Kim Bong-hyun, chairman of Star Mobility, who was identified as the 'financial source' of Lime, in exchange for providing work-related information and conveniences, and leaking internal information related to the Financial Supervisory Service's inspection of Lime Asset Management.

A former Financial Supervisory Service official, Kim was dispatched to work as an administrative officer in the Blue House Economic Secretariat for one year starting February last year and is suspected of being involved in covering up the Lime scandal during that period.

He was also mentioned in conversations between Jang, former head of the Banpo WM Center at Daishin Securities, who sold more than 1 trillion won worth of Lime Asset Management private equity funds, and affected investors, implying that he was 'helping to prevent the spread of the Lime Asset Management scandal.'

Following the ruling party's landslide victory in the general election, political attacks against Prosecutor General Yoon Seok-yeol are intensifying, and the prosecution's investigation into the Lime scandal is expected to accelerate further.
