Yeosu City Supports Youth Job-Seeking Activity Allowance "Helping Youth Enter Society"

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Kwon Oh-bong) announced on the 16th that it will provide job-seeking activity allowances to 140 young people to help those whose employment periods have been prolonged enter society.

This project supports young people by alleviating the greatest economic burden they feel so that they can fully concentrate on job-seeking activities, providing 500,000 KRW per month for up to 6 months, with a maximum of 3 million KRW.

The support funds can be used for education expenses, book purchases, exam fees, interview preparation costs necessary for job-seeking activities, as well as expenses required for social entry activities (transportation, meals, housing costs). However, 300,000 KRW of the first payment will be provided in Yeosu Love Gift Certificates.

Eligibility requires residing in Yeosu City, being between 18 and 34 years old, having graduated, completed, or dropped out of the last school more than 2 years ago, and being an unemployed youth with the intention to seek employment whose household income is below 150% of the median income (7,124,000 KRW for a 4-person household).

Detailed information can be found on the Yeosu City Hall website (Notices), and inquiries can be made to the Jeollanam-do Small and Medium Business Promotion Agency Youth Job-Seeking Activity Allowance Team.

A city official stated, “We plan to support reducing the burden of job preparation costs for young people so that they can enter society quickly,” adding, “We hope this will be a great help to the youth who will lead the future of the region.”
