'The Seven Deadly Sins' Global Success Forecasts Netmarble's Strong Q2 Performance

[Asia Economy Reporter Jin-gyu Lee] Netmarble is forecasting strong second-quarter earnings following the global success of 'The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross,' after 'A3: Still Alive.'

According to mobile app market analysis site App Annie on the 16th, the estimated cumulative global downloads of Netmarble's mobile role-playing game (RPG) The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross recently surpassed 10 million.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Grand Cross is a mobile game developed using the intellectual property (IP) of the popular Japanese animation 'Nanatsu no Taizai.' It was first released in South Korea and Japan in June last year, achieving the number one spot in sales on the Apple App Store in both countries within ten days of launch. It accounted for approximately 49.6 billion KRW (9%) of Netmarble's 551.8 billion KRW in fourth-quarter sales last year.

As of the 31st of last month, it ranked sixth in sales on the North American Apple App Store and reached number one in sales in France, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and other regions. Sung Jong-hwa, a researcher at Ebest Investment & Securities, analyzed, "Although the ranking slightly declined earlier this month, this is due to the genre's characteristic pattern of strong performance at the end of the month and a slowdown at the beginning."

A3: Still Alive, released on the 12th of last month, also recorded fourth place in Google Play sales as of the 15th, maintaining strong performance for over a month. The industry estimates the daily average sales of A3: Still Alive to be around 500 million KRW.
