As kindergartens and daycare centers have entered an indefinite closure due to the COVID-19 situation, it has become difficult for English instructors, reading instructors, and other special activity instructors in charge of special activities at kindergartens and daycare centers to conduct their classes. Considering the potential impact on their livelihoods, the second phase of the "Difficult but Together" campaign will be carried out targeting all Dongsim special lecture instructors nationwide.

CEO Jeongshin stated, “Right now, not only in Korea but worldwide, we must do our utmost to prevent the spread and infection of COVID-19. We must also remember that when normal school reopening occurs, children need good teachers.” He added, “The role of special activity instructors is very important for the basic education of children. Currently, English instructors and various other instructors who are essential at kindergartens and daycare centers are going through the most difficult times due to the nature of their jobs.”

He continued, “Dongsim is also going through a very difficult period due to COVID-19, but it was heartbreaking to see instructors, who have been preparing classes for children and deeply value this work, giving up due to financial difficulties.” He added, “Through this decision made together by Dongsim headquarters and branches, we wanted to offer even a small support to the actual teachers.”

This campaign targets “Dongsim special lecture instructors who are struggling but together,” and Dongsim headquarters and branches have pooled their efforts to provide a one-time payment of 200,000 KRW per month to over 1,000 Dongsim-affiliated special lecture instructors nationwide, with additional payments under consideration.

Through the “Difficult but Together” campaign, while many parents are caring for their children at home, 100 researchers from the affiliated Dongsim Research Institute are taking on the role of instructors by producing and distributing educational videos to minimize educational loss. They are also preparing and providing parent education content in video form to assist parents during this time.

Dongsim stated that it will continue to do its best to support all Dongsim employees and the early childhood education field until the COVID-19 situation is resolved and early childhood education sites return to normal.
