[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-seon] On the 12th, the total number of confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) in South Korea was reported to be 10,512. The death toll increased by 3 to 214.
The Central Disease Control Headquarters (CDCH) announced that as of midnight on that day, the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases increased by 32 compared to midnight the previous day. The daily new confirmed cases have consistently recorded double digits: 47 on the 6th, 47 on the 7th, 53 on the 8th, 39 on the 9th, 27 on the 10th, and 30 the day before.
Among the 32 new confirmed cases, 24 were imported cases and 8 were locally transmitted cases. By region, 4 cases were newly confirmed in Gyeonggi and 3 in Seoul, 2 in Daegu, 1 in Incheon, 3 in Gyeongbuk, and 1 in Chungnam. Additionally, 18 confirmed cases were newly identified at quarantine stations.
The number of patients who have recovered and been released from isolation increased by 125, bringing the total number of released confirmed cases to 7,368. The number of confirmed cases currently in isolation is 2,930, which is 96 fewer than the previous day (3,026).
