[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] i-SENS announced on the 10th through a public disclosure that it will transition to a dual CEO system. i-SENS was founded by CEO Cha Geun-sik, a former chemistry professor at Kwangwoon University, and President Nam Hak-hyun (CTO·Chief Technology Officer), who developed a blood glucose meter using domestic technology in 2000.
The two started their joint venture while working as university professors and have expanded their business scale based on technological competitiveness by introducing self-monitoring blood glucose products and various other products domestically. After 20 years since its establishment, i-SENS decided to switch to a dual CEO system to enhance management efficiency and stability, as well as to establish a faster decision-making structure.
With the transition to the dual CEO system, CEO Nam Hak-hyun plans to lead i-SENS in the technology research sector to ensure it continues to be a specialized biosensor company. Meanwhile, CEO Cha Geun-sik is expected to focus all efforts on strengthening overall business efficiency at i-SENS based on his 20 years of experience as the company’s CEO.
i-SENS has been operating in the biosensor-based blood glucose and POCT business, gaining recognition for its technology not only domestically but also in the global market, continuously expanding its market share in blood glucose-related products worldwide.
