[Photo] Gangnam-gu Conducts Major Cleaning of 192 Subway Station Entrances


[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangnam-gu (District Mayor Jeong Soon-gyun) will conduct a major cleaning of all subway station entrances in the area until the 14th to prevent the spread of infectious diseases and remove accumulated grime and dust from the winter season.


The district will deploy 32 water-cleaning vehicles and 96 sanitation workers to clean the roofs and collect trash discarded at ventilation outlets at 192 entrances of 28 subway stations in the area.


Previously, from the 2nd to the 18th of last month, the district conducted major cleaning and disinfection at 611 city, airport, and village bus stops, as well as exercise facilities and playgrounds in 131 parks. Additionally, from the 24th of last month to the 2nd of this month, 16 water-cleaning vehicles and 48 sanitation workers were mobilized to wash the exterior walls and roofs of both sides of the Maebong Tunnel passageways.


Song Jin-young, head of the Cleaning Administration Division, said, “To prevent the local spread of COVID-19, Me, You, and We are working together with a spirit of consideration and respect, doing our best alongside the residents.” He added, “We will continue to lead the creation of a ‘must-environmental city’ befitting the dignified Gangnam with a heart of cooperation, consideration, and respect.”
