[Asia Economy Reporter Son Sun-hee] President Moon Jae-in participated in early voting for the 21st National Assembly election on the morning of the 10th at an early voting station near the Blue House. The purpose was to encourage an increase in voter turnout.

President Moon voted around 9 a.m. that day at the Samcheong-dong Community Center in Jongno-gu, Seoul, together with his wife, First Lady Kim Jung-sook. President Moon is a voter in the Jongno-gu district where the Blue House residence is located. To prevent infection from the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19), he underwent a temperature check at the entrance of the polling station, then wore a mask and disposable sanitary gloves before voting. Key Blue House aides, including Chief Policy Officer Kim Sang-jo and Senior Secretary for Political Affairs Kang Ki-jung, also participated in early voting.

After finishing voting, President Moon met with Ahn Young-mi, head of Samcheong-dong, and asked, "Are many voters coming to vote?" He added, "This time, since there might be congestion on the actual voting day, I hope people will spread out their voting by using early voting."
