"Black Connections Among Conservative Politicians"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] On the 10th, the Minsaeng Party criticized Ahn Cheol-soo, leader of the People’s Party, who said, “The People’s Party made a great decision to forgo district nominations in response to a request not to split the opposition vote,” asking, “Is this a coming out of his true conservative colors?”
Lee Yeon-gi, spokesperson for the Minsaeng Party’s election countermeasures committee, said in a statement that day, “I was surprised by Ahn’s unhesitant coming out of his conservative true colors, despite his strong denial of any connection with the United Future Party,” and added, “I was even more surprised by his mention that he received some request and accepted it to devise his election strategy.”
The spokesperson pointed out, “The public cannot help but recall the dark connections among conservative politicians from Ahn’s despicable remark,” and questioned, “When exactly, who, and what request was made to Ahn? And what was the price for carrying it out?”
He urged, “Ahn should immediately stop this comedic run and clarify his words,” and “We call on him to clearly reveal what has been going on between the People’s Party and the United Future Party.”
