Korea Railroad Establishes 'Management Planning Headquarters'... Appoints Jeon Chan-ho as Head

[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Jiwon] Korea Railroad Corporation (KORAIL) announced on the 10th that it will establish the Management Planning Headquarters as of the 13th to overcome the management crisis, and appointed Jeon Chan-ho, Head of the Busan-Gyeongnam Headquarters (54), as the new Head of the Management Planning Headquarters (Standing Director).


According to KORAIL, the Management Planning Headquarters will be organized under the Planning Coordination Office, Talent Management Office, Financial Management Office, and Legal Affairs Office, and will oversee management functions such as reviewing and managing railway policies and current issues, as well as adjusting major business functions.


The new Head of the Management Planning Headquarters, Jeon, is a railway expert who has served as the head of departments in management areas including planning, personnel, finance, and audit, as well as major regional headquarters. He is known as an integrative talent who has proven both field experience and planning capabilities.


KORAIL also appointed Joo Yong-hwan, Acting Head of the Technology Headquarters (56), to the vacant position of Head of the Technology Headquarters to strengthen capabilities in the technical field.


Joo, the new Head of the Technology Headquarters, had been acting as the head since February and was officially appointed this time in recognition of his expertise in railway technology.


Son Byung-seok, President of KORAIL, said, "We aim to wisely resolve various urgent issues by selecting experts with abundant experience and capabilities," adding, "We will consolidate the management planning sector to strengthen verification of policy decisions and create an organization that can turn crises into opportunities."
