[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] eBay Korea announced on the 10th that Chinese distributors selling in the overseas direct purchase corner have delivered a total of 10,000 masks to the Korea Volunteer Center Association through eBay Korea to help overcome the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).
eBay Korea covered the overseas shipping costs for 10,000 masks jointly purchased by eight Chinese sellers and the overseas direct purchase media platform Ship News, and delivered them to volunteer manager members of the Korea Volunteer Center Association, who are distributing COVID-19 support supplies to low-income groups nationwide.
Previously, eBay Korea urgently supported hygiene products worth 100 million won to firefighters in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk area, self-quarantined disabled households, and local activists, and through employee fundraising, delivered 2,000 masks to pediatric cancer patients in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region. Gmarket and Auction customers are also participating in warm sharing through "remote donations," supporting those struggling with COVID-19 with masks and various other items.
Woo Hyeyoung, manager of eBay Korea's overseas direct purchase team, said, "eBay Korea is being used as a donation platform by domestic and international members who want to practice sharing to overcome COVID-19," and added, "We express our gratitude to the overseas direct purchase seller members who participated in disaster recovery and hope that volunteers working hard across the country will use these supplies effectively."
