KF80·94 Masks for a Total of 24,904 Basic Livelihood Security Recipients... Second Round of Additional Purchases and Distribution Planned
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) announced that it will distribute masks to low-income groups who find it difficult to purchase masks, continuing from the previous year.
This measure aims to prevent respiratory diseases caused by ultra-high concentration fine dust and to prevent COVID-19 infections.
Especially this year, in response to the disaster situation caused by COVID-19, the district plans to secure health masks through emergency private contracts and do its best to protect vulnerable groups from infection.
The recipients include a total of 24,904 people such as basic livelihood security recipients, near-poverty groups, single-parent families, and residents of living facilities (facilities for the disabled, homeless shelters, child communal living homes, and elderly living facilities).
The provided items are MFDS-certified KF80 and KF94 health masks, with 5 masks given per person.
The district plans to purchase additional masks after this distribution to provide a second round, in order to prevent contamination and deterioration during storage.
Masks for residents of living facilities will be distributed to the facilities by the responsible department. Other recipients can collect masks directly at their local community service centers. For those who have difficulty visiting the centers due to mobility issues, the visiting welfare team will deliver masks directly to their homes.
Park Gyeom-su, Mayor of Gangbuk-gu, said, “We are distributing masks to reduce the economic burden on low-income groups and to protect health from COVID-19 and fine dust. We will continue to devise various support measures so that all residents, including marginalized groups, can live safely and healthily.”
