GS25 and Seoul City Collaborate to Expand Use of Seoul Sarang Gift Certificates

[Asia Economy Reporter Minyoung Cha] GS25 has decided to cooperate with Seoul City to expand the use of Seoul Love Gift Certificates.

GS25 and Seoul City announced that they will sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for "the use of Seoul Love Gift Certificates and revitalization of the local economy" at 2 p.m. on the 10th at Seoul City Hall. The signing ceremony will be attended by Yoonseong Cho, President of GS Retail, Sungki Kim, Head of GS25 Convenience Store Support Division, Junghyup Seo, First Deputy Mayor of Seoul, and Seongman Seo, Labor and Livelihood Policy Officer.

GS25 and Seoul City agreed to cooperate in promotional activities to activate the distribution of Seoul Love Gift Certificates and support promotional activities for gift certificate consumption to revitalize the local economy.

Meanwhile, GS25 announced that after introducing the mobile-type local love gift certificate "Zero Pay" in January, the transaction amount of Seoul Love Gift Certificates in March increased by 82% compared to the previous month. The usage of local gift certificates is estimated to have increased due to the emergency disaster relief that ended on the 7th and the 15% discount and 5% cashback benefits when purchasing Seoul local gift certificates from Seoul City. It is explained that there are effects such as economic revitalization and reduction of payment fees for small business owners.

GS25 also prepared an event to support the expansion of local love gift certificate usage. From the 16th to the 30th of this month, customers who pay for lunch boxes and cooked noodle products with mobile-type local love gift certificates such as Seoul Love Gift Certificates and Zero Pay will receive a "Kwangdong Vita 500 100ml" as a gift. Eight products including "Crispy Sweet Potato," "Jukyeom Dongui Smoked Egg," and "Sprite 1.5L" will be offered with 1+1 or 2+1 promotions when paid with Zero Pay mobile gift certificates. Additionally, an event will be held where customers purchasing all hamburger and sandwich products, imported meat, and 11 products including "Max Potato" snacks with Kona Card will receive separate gifts.

Sangwook Park, Team Leader of GS25 Marketing Team, said, "We signed a business agreement with Seoul City and planned this event to provide some help in improving the economic situation that has fallen into difficulty due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19). We will continuously prepare events to activate consumption so that GS25 can help overcome the economic crisis."
