Three Tourist Hotels Including CMS INN SEOUL (Hwikyung-dong) and Unique (Imun-dong) Participate
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Dongdaemun-gu (Mayor Yoo Deok-yeol) announced that three local lodging facilities will participate in the operation of the ‘National Safe Lodging’ program.
‘National Safe Lodging’ refers to accommodations designated for families of nationals entering from abroad who are required to undergo a mandatory 2-week self-quarantine, allowing the families to stay temporarily.
In Dongdaemun-gu, a total of three tourist hotels, including CMS INN SEOUL (located in Huigyeong-dong) and Unique (located in Imun-dong), are participating, offering lodging to families of those in self-quarantine at rates up to 50% lower than the usual accommodation fees.
The district expects that the ‘National Safe Lodging’ program will help prevent secondary COVID-19 infections between entrants and their families, and improve the performance of lodging businesses struggling due to decreased customers.
The district plans to continue discussions with local lodging facilities not yet participating in the ‘National Safe Lodging’ program to encourage more accommodations to join.
Yoo Deok-yeol, Mayor of Dongdaemun-gu, expressed gratitude to the lodging facilities participating in the operation of the ‘National Safe Lodging’ and stated, “The district will also do its best to minimize local damage caused by COVID-19 through thorough quarantine activities.”
