[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Gokseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced on the 9th that it will temporarily provide public utility fee support to small business owners facing a management crisis due to a sharp decline in sales caused by COVID-19.
To this end, the county secured 345 million won, including 138 million won from the provincial government and 207 million won from the county budget, through the second supplementary budget.
The public utility fee support for small business owners is intended to cover fixed costs necessary to maintain their establishments. A one-time payment of 300,000 won, based on 100,000 won per month for three months, will be provided in the form of mobile or paper Gokseong Simcheong gift certificates.
Eligible recipients are small business owners registered and operating their businesses in Gokseong-gun with annual sales of 300 million won or less, and small-scale establishments with fewer than five regular employees (fewer than 10 employees for mining, manufacturing, construction, and transportation industries).
Applications can be submitted at the town or township office where the business is located until the 29th of next month.
The county will also support entertainment bars classified as excluded industries from loan support by the Small Enterprise and Market Service using its own funds (county budget). Since entertainment bars, which are often overlooked in various support blind spots, have suffered significant business losses due to COVID-19, special support is provided for equity reasons.
A county official said, “We hope this will be of some help to small business owners who are going through difficulties.”
