[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Fire Headquarters (Chief Ma Jaeyoon) announced on the 9th that it will enter 'special alert duty' in relation to the 21st National Assembly election.
This special alert duty will be conducted mainly at voting and counting stations in preparation for the 21st National Assembly election, starting from 6 p.m. on the 9th, one day before the early voting day, until the completion of vote counting on the 15th.
All fire stations in the province will conduct mobile patrols at fire-prone areas such as polling stations more than three times a day during the special alert duty period, and will operate fire trucks and village broadcasts to prevent various accidents.
Additionally, on the voting day of the 15th, fire trucks and ambulances will be deployed in advance to 22 counting stations to establish a rapid on-site response system in case of emergencies.
Jeonnam Fire conducted a special fire inspection last month on 1,183 voting and counting stations, performing preliminary checks for fire prevention, including the safety management status of fire facilities and emergency exits within polling stations.
Ma Jaeyoon, Chief of Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, said, “Since the election is being held under the serious situation of COVID-19, we are fully prepared to minimize contact with the public while preventing accidents and ensuring rapid response. We will do our best to ensure that the valuable exercise of rights by the residents proceeds safely.”
