[Asia Economy Reporter Yoon Shin-won] Parents of runaway children demanded that Lee Man-hee, the General Pastor of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Shincheonji), take measures to ensure the safe return of their children and requested a meeting.
At around 11 a.m. on the 9th, members of the National Shincheonji Victims Solidarity held a press conference in front of the Shincheonji Peace Training Center in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province, stating, "In this national disaster situation, our children who ran away believing in Shincheonji are in a situation where we do not even know where they live or whether they have been tested," adding, "Parents are so worried about their children's safety that they cannot sleep at night."
They also urged, "As the leader of an organization, (General Pastor Lee) should take responsibility for the minimum safety of the runaway children and send our children back home so they no longer suffer."
They attached a request for a meeting in front of the main gate of the Peace Training Center and held a performance decorating the gate with flowers and balloons.
Earlier, on the 8th, it was confirmed that General Pastor Lee entered and exited the Shincheonji facility in Gapyeong, which had been closed due to concerns over the spread of the novel coronavirus, without permission from health authorities, and he was reported to the police by Gyeonggi Province.
