[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Kang In-kyu, mayor of Naju City, received a commendation from the Army 2nd Operations Command (Commander General Hwang In-kwon) in recognition of his contribution to establishing a regional integrated defense posture, commemorating the 52nd Homeland Reserve Forces Day.
According to the city on the 9th, the Army 2nd Operations Command evaluated Mayor Kang as having faithfully carried out civil-military cooperation and integrated defense duties as the chairman of the city’s Integrated Defense Council, contributing to the establishment of an integrated defense posture following the enhancement of reserve forces.
In particular, it is known that this commendation was awarded after the Army 31st Infantry Division uniquely recommended the city’s Integrated Defense Council among local governments in Gwangju and Jeonnam.
Mayor Kang said, “This commendation is by no means a personal honor but the achievement of all the members of the Integrated Defense Council who have worked together for regional security,” adding, “I especially thank the military for their role and support, taking on tough and difficult tasks and serving as the backbone of the Integrated Defense Council.”
