[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Ju Cheol-in] The recruitment exam of Busan Transportation Corporation, which was indefinitely postponed in February, is expected to be held in June or July if the COVID-19 situation improves.
Busan Transportation Corporation announced on the 9th that, assuming COVID-19 is under control, the written recruitment exam is scheduled to take place between late June and early July.
The corporation plans to finalize and announce the exam date after thoroughly considering factors such as the government's infectious disease 'crisis' alert level being downgraded, the nationwide trend of decreasing new confirmed cases, cases from other public institutions, and the safety of applicants and citizens.
Once the exam date is confirmed, the corporation is considering measures to reduce the number of people per test site by splitting the operation and technical position exams into morning and afternoon sessions to disperse applicants and increasing the spacing between seats.
In the Busan Transportation Corporation's new employee recruitment, which closed in February, 28,767 applicants applied for 670 positions, setting a record for the highest number of applicants ever.
The recruitment exam originally scheduled for February 23 was postponed due to concerns about COVID-19 infection and spread when a large number of people gather at once.
Lee Jong-guk, president of Busan Transportation Corporation, said, "I wanted to inform applicants, who are tired of vague waiting and anxiety, about the tentative exam plan," and added, "We will do our best to ensure the exam is conducted normally."
