[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Daeseop] Shin Yong-moon, CEO of Shilla Engineering, has been elected as the new chairman of the Korea Mold Industry Cooperative.
According to the Mold Industry Cooperative on the 9th, a regular general meeting was held the day before at the Mold Technology Training Center located in Siheung, Gyeonggi Province, where CEO Shin Yong-moon was unanimously appointed as chairman by the member companies.
Chairman Shin was born in 1955 and graduated from Yeungnam University with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering and from Kyungnam University Graduate School of Business. He has served as a special committee member for the root industry at the Korea Federation of SMEs and as president of the Asan Technovalley Business Association. Shilla Engineering, located in Asan, Chungnam, is a company specializing in press molds. Its sales revenue last year was 69.4 billion KRW.
In his inaugural speech, Chairman Shin said, "Our mold industry is currently facing difficulties due to changes in domestic and international market environments, and being appointed chairman during this very serious time with the spread of the novel coronavirus, I feel a heavy sense of mission and responsibility." He added, "I will work together with all member companies so that the mold industry, a core national root industry, can wisely overcome this crisis and leap forward as a world-class mold powerhouse."
