Gangnam-gu Releases Movement Paths of Entertainment Establishment Employees... Additional Confirmed Cases of Father and Son Residing in Dogok-dong (Update)


[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Two additional COVID-19 cases were confirmed in Gangnam-gu on the 8th.


As a result, the total number of confirmed cases in the district has increased to 56.


A 46-year-old man residing in Dogok 1-dong, Gangnam-gu, is the husband of a confirmed case who tested positive yesterday. After their daughter, an international student, was confirmed positive on March 27, he was self-quarantining and developed a fever on the 6th. He underwent a specimen test at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center on the 7th and was confirmed positive on the morning of the 8th.


Additionally, their 11-year-old son returned to Korea on March 24 via Emirates flight EK0004 from London to Dubai and EK0322 from Dubai to Incheon. Although he showed no symptoms until recently, he was tested at the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center on the afternoon of the 7th after his family members were confirmed positive, and he was confirmed positive on the afternoon of the 8th.


Gangnam-gu, in cooperation with Seoul City and the Gangnam-gu Public Health Center, conducted a joint on-site investigation of the entertainment establishment where a 36-year-old female confirmed case recently worked. They identified 116 customers and employees who had contact with her, all of whom were instructed to self-quarantine. The establishment was disinfected and closed.


Furthermore, following Seoul City's administrative order banning gatherings at entertainment facilities, Gangnam and Suseo Police Stations formed a joint inspection team to regularly check compliance. Businesses found violating the order will face legal action.
