[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Seo Young-seo] On the 8th, Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that on the 6th, it assigned 10 newly appointed and transferred public health doctors working in public health in medically vulnerable areas such as farming and fishing villages to local health institutions, Muan Hospital, and the public Muan-gun Senior Specialized Nursing Hospital, respectively.
The newly assigned public health doctors include 5 in medicine, 2 in dentistry, and 3 in Korean medicine, who will serve for three years and provide primary health services on site together with doctors already in service.
In particular, medical public health doctors were appointed early from the 5th of last month due to a shortage of medical personnel caused by the rapid spread of COVID-19, and they performed patient treatment and quarantine duties at COVID-19 sites.
They will also perform infectious disease response duties to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the newly assigned Muan area and will be responsible for local health care as guardians of the health of the county residents.
Jung Soo-yeon, head of the health center, requested, “Please always provide medical care with a friendly attitude so that county residents can comfortably visit health institutions,” and added, “Especially, I hope you will do your best to prevent the spread of infectious diseases for the local community struggling due to COVID-19.”
