Gwangjin-gu Supports Local Children's Centers with Laptop Computers and Printers

Support of Learning Laptops and Printers to 14 Local Children's Centers... Expected to Help Emergency Care Children Attend Online Classes

Gwangjin-gu Supports Local Children's Centers with Laptop Computers and Printers Meeting with Regional Children's Center Directors held last month at the District Office Chief's Office

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gwangjin-gu (District Mayor Kim Seon-gap) will provide learning laptops and printers to 14 local community child centers for children receiving emergency care at these centers.

Local community child centers are child welfare facilities that provide care services such as learning guidance, healthy play, and entertainment for children in the community. Although they are currently closed to prevent the spread of COVID-19, emergency care is being provided for children who are at risk of care gaps.

Last month, as the closure and emergency care period of local community child centers prolonged due to COVID-19, the district held a meeting with the heads of local child centers to discuss online learning support measures for children receiving emergency care.

Additionally, to prepare for online school openings, it was decided to support learning laptops and printers to help children receiving emergency care attend online classes.

Accordingly, starting from the 9th, the district, together with the Gwangjin Welfare Foundation, began distributing learning laptops and printers to 14 local community child centers.

Previously, to prevent COVID-19 infection, the district also provided non-contact infrared thermometers, masks, hand sanitizers, and other supplies to local community child centers.

Kim Seon-gap, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, “I hope the laptops and printers provided this time will help children using the local community child centers attend online classes. We will continue to support efforts to overcome COVID-19 as soon as possible and create an environment where our children can grow up healthy and safe.”
