As of Last Month, Eligible Recipients of Child Allowance Under Age 7
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Hampyeong-gun, Jeollanam-do (Acting County Governor Na Yoon-su) announced on the 8th that it will provide a ‘Child Care Coupon’ worth 400,000 KRW per child to alleviate the burden of child-rearing caused by COVID-19.
As of last month, a total of 899 children under the age of 7 who are eligible for child allowance (excluding those born after April 1, 2020) will receive the Child Care Coupon worth a total of 360 million KRW on the 13th.
The Child Care Coupon, which is provided in addition to the existing child allowance, will be issued in the form of electronic points that can be used like cash on government support cards (Ihaengbok Card and Gukmin Haengbok Card).
The points can be used until the end of this year. Similar to local currency, they can be used throughout Jeollanam-do (at stores) except for department stores, large marts, online shopping malls, and entertainment bars.
Existing cardholders will receive the coupon automatically without a separate application.
Households without cards can apply for a gift card by visiting their local town or township office or through the Bokjiro website by the 29th of this month.
The issued gift card will be delivered by registered mail to the address provided at the time of application, and any reissuance or delivery costs due to loss will be charged to the individual at actual cost. Additionally, children in child-rearing facilities who are beneficiaries will receive the coupon individually through the ‘Didim Seed Bank’ established for asset formation support.
For any inquiries related to the Child Care Coupon, contact the Resident Welfare Office of Hampyeong County Office. A county official stated, “Although this is temporary support, we hope it will be a great help to each child-rearing household and the local economy struggling due to COVID-19.”
