Gwangju Buk-gu, Full-Scale Promotion of Community Integrated Care Project

Gwangju Buk-gu, Full-Scale Promotion of Community Integrated Care Project

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yukbong] Buk-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Moon In) announced on the 8th that it has secured 100 million won in project funds after being selected in the elderly sector of the 2020 Community Integrated Care Contest Project hosted by Gwangju City, and will officially promote the care project.

The community integrated care project was established as part of the government's basic social security plan to provide various social security services to those in need of care, such as the elderly, disabled, mentally ill, and homeless.

Accordingly, Buk-gu will promote various projects from this month until December to improve the quality of life for the elderly.

First, a care learning program will be operated to train care workers, and social service projects for home and health management of the elderly will be carried out, including nutritional lunchbox support, disinfection and quarantine, and residential environment improvement.

In addition, welfare needs of single elderly households will be surveyed using big data to provide customized welfare services such as nursing and health care, and village welfare plans will be established by neighborhood to create a welfare community where neighbors care for each other.

Mayor Moon In of Buk-gu said, “I hope this integrated care project will serve as an opportunity to establish a local care service model,” and added, “We will continue to build a dense welfare safety net so that vulnerable groups in need of care can live safely and healthily.”
