[Asia Economy Reporter Buaeri] Online training is being conducted in preparation for an increase in hacking attacks due to the expansion of non-face-to-face work amid the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation.
SK Infosec announced on the 8th that it will strengthen its online ethical hacking training in response to the increased risk of hacking attacks caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Ethical hacking refers to performing simulated hacking to identify security vulnerabilities in IT systems in advance to prepare for cyberattacks. SK Infosec has been conducting ethical hacking projects for public institutions, financial companies, and large corporations. The strategic hacking team dedicated to ethical hacking consists of about 80 members.
SK Infosec plans to support the development of its members' professional capabilities by utilizing its self-developed online education system, 'EQST LMS (Learning Management System)'.
EQST LMS provides both theoretical and practical training in an online environment. It has a systematic curriculum ranging from beginner to advanced courses and reflects hacking techniques and know-how applied in actual ethical hacking project sites.
The EQST LMS curriculum focuses on web vulnerabilities, which are most frequently required in ethical hacking practice, and is composed of basic theory, step-by-step practice, and evaluation. It also offers courses on mobile vulnerabilities such as Android and iOS. Learners who meet the completion criteria are issued certificates of completion.
SK Infosec plans to expand the EQST LMS curriculum to include system and network ethical hacking as well as incident response in the future. Through this, it aims to enhance members' job expertise and support the expansion of knowledge and capabilities into various fields.
Kim Taehyung, head of EQST at SK Infosec, said, "EQST LMS is equipped with an online education curriculum that can be utilized in actual ethical hacking practice, keeping pace with the untact era," adding, "In the future, we will open it to the public to contribute to nurturing white-hat hackers who will lead the Fourth Industrial Revolution era."
