[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Seon-ae] Paldo announced on the 8th that it has launched two new products of ‘Paldo Bibim Sauce’ (Spicy, Butter Soy Sauce).
‘Paldo Bibim Sauce’ is an all-purpose sauce that goes well with any dish. It was developed in response to consumer demand to release the liquid soup of ‘Paldo Bibim Men’ separately in 2017. With the launch of these two new products, ‘Paldo Bibim Sauce’ introduces new flavors after three years, expanding its lineup to three flavors: ‘Signature’, ‘Spicy Sauce’, and ‘Butter Soy Sauce’.
The two new products are ‘Paldo Bibim Sauce Spicy’ and ‘Paldo Bibim Sauce Butter Soy Sauce’. Both products are all-purpose sauces that allow you to easily achieve the desired flavor without additional seasoning. The packaging features the flower pattern, the signature mark of the popular brand ‘Paldo Bibim Men’, preserving its unique identity. The container is tube-shaped, making it easy to control the amount and store.
‘Paldo Bibim Sauce Spicy’ is a product that adds spiciness to the existing ‘Paldo Bibim Sauce Signature’. It uses Bhut Jolokia, known as the world’s hottest chili pepper, as an ingredient, making the spiciness more than 10 times stronger than before.
‘Paldo Bibim Sauce Butter Soy Sauce’ is inspired by soy sauce egg rice, a dish that everyone has tried at least once. It uses real butter from New Zealand, offering a rich and savory taste that blends well with soy sauce, creating a perfectly salty and umami flavor.
Lee Ga-hyun, marketing manager of Paldo Bibim Sauce, said, “We hope that the launch of these new products will provide more customers with an opportunity to enjoy ‘Paldo Bibim Sauce’ in a new way,” and added, “We will continue to develop products that can offer consumers unique enjoyment based on the authenticity of Paldo Bibim Sauce.”
Meanwhile, with the recent increase in single-person households, the convenience food and delivery industries are rapidly growing, expanding the sauce market as well. According to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, the domestic sauce market reached 1.91 trillion won in sales in 2018. This is about a 16% increase compared to the previous year, and the sauce market has shown an average growth rate of 10% over the past three years.
