[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] On the afternoon of the 7th, Foreign Minister Kang Kyung-wha held a phone conversation at the request of Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates, exchanging views on cooperation measures between the two countries to respond to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Minister Abdullah expressed deep gratitude, stating that immediately after the UAE government requested COVID-19 related medical supplies such as diagnostic kits, our government provided urgent support, enabling the UAE to successfully respond to COVID-19.

Furthermore, Minister Abdullah evaluated that Korea's excellent quarantine capabilities and balanced policies regarding COVID-19 have become a model for the international community.

An official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained, "The two ministers emphasized the importance of international cooperation to overcome COVID-19 and agreed to overcome difficult times together based on the Korea-UAE Special Strategic Partnership."
