Gyeongsan City Public-Type Daycare Center Association, Sharing Event to Overcome 'COVID-19'

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Young-wook] The Public-Type Daycare Center Association of Gyeongsan City, Gyeongbuk, announced on the 7th that it held a 'Sharing Event to Overcome COVID-19' for three days starting from the 30th of last month to help neighbors in need due to the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19).

Fifteen directors and teachers from public-type daycare centers in the Gyeongsan area collected donations amounting to 4.62 million won to prepare and provide food kits for elderly people living alone in the community, and cooked and delivered lunch boxes and side dishes for youth from grandparent-headed families and elderly living alone.

They also donated 1.1 million won to a multi-child foreign family whose parents both lost their jobs due to COVID-19 and who are battling intractable diseases; the funds will be used for medical expenses and other needs.

An association official said, "We are glad that all members could participate in the sharing event by gathering small contributions," and added, "We hope COVID-19 will subside soon so that our children can run and play freely."
