[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Park Hyung-jun, Co-Chairman of the Future United Party's Joint Election Countermeasures Committee, urged on the 7th, "The Blue House should explain why President Moon Jae-in has been making frequent external visits, which were not on his schedule, especially during the general election period, and why he selectively visits regions and professions related to the election."
At the election strategy meeting held at the National Assembly that morning, Chairman Park said, "President Moon subtly supported the ruling party by visiting battleground areas and then blatantly courted the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions (KCTU)."
He claimed, "I had urged to stop the cunning key election tactics. Nevertheless, President Moon is brazenly adjusting his shoelaces in the cucumber patch."
Chairman Park stated, "President Moon canceled the Blue House meeting with senior secretaries and held an unscheduled meeting with heads of financial institutions. He suddenly visited the site and also expressed gratitude to the Financial Industry Union," adding, "The ruling party, which is willing to do anything to win the election like the Ulsan election fraud, should abandon the improper intention of using the president for the election." He added, "Even if the public seems unaware, they know everything."
Regarding Lee Nak-yeon, the Democratic Party candidate for Jongno District in Seoul, Chairman Park mocked, "His words are truly oily. He is like a greased ball slipping here and there."
He criticized, "He uses cunning negative rhetoric to belittle others in an attempt to appear magnanimous. When it comes to the comprehensive real estate tax, he dodges by saying he will negotiate whether to raise or lower it. When criticized for the failures of the past three years, he brings up the previous administration to evade responsibility."
Chairman Park also criticized, "When the failure of the initial COVID-19 response is mentioned, he brings up the 2015 MERS outbreak. When asked about the satellite party's policy flip-flop, he subtly avoids by saying it became inevitable due to practical issues." He added, "While vaguely glossing over all problems is an issue, he disparages opponents by assuming that candidate Hwang Kyo-ahn would do so and claiming he himself would not. It is questionable whether someone aiming for the next presidential election truly has sincerity and the bold courage to call right what is right and wrong what is wrong."
