Dobong-gu '2020 Youth Startup Education D-School' Participant Recruitment


[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Dobong-gu (Mayor Dongjin Lee) is recruiting participants for the ‘2020 Youth Startup Education D-School’ program targeting young prospective entrepreneurs and early-stage startups.


The application period is from April 6 to May 8.


After document evaluation, the final 30 individuals (teams) selected will receive youth startup education support. The classes will be held every Thursday at 7 PM from May 21 to July 30 at Platform Changdong 61.


The curriculum includes a high-quality education program supporting step-by-step training and mentoring on △idea development △business model establishment △lean startup, among others.


After completing the 10-week course, three outstanding graduates (teams) selected through an idea competition will receive △prototype production cost support (1st place 1,000,000 KRW, 2nd place 700,000 KRW, 3rd place 300,000 KRW) △preferential treatment when moving into the youth startup incubating space (tentative name) △professional management consulting, and follow-up management to help connect to actual startups.


Eligibility includes young prospective entrepreneurs aged 19 to 39 who reside in Dobong-gu, are students (including those on leave) at schools located in Dobong-gu, or are workers employed in Dobong-gu, as well as early-stage startups within one year of establishment.


Applications can be submitted by downloading the application form from the Dobong-gu Office website and sending it via email (20dschool@gmail.com). Selected candidates will be individually notified in mid-May after document evaluation. However, due to COVID-19 prevention measures, the education schedule may change, and any changes will be individually communicated to the selected participants.


Mayor Dongjin Lee of Dobong-gu stated, “As young people’s interest and enthusiasm for startups are high, I hope this youth startup education will strengthen their entrepreneurial capabilities and lead to successful startups.”
