[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] A man identified as A, who sold sedative anesthetics to singer Wheesung (38, real name Choi Whee-sung), has been arrested.
On the 6th, the Songpa Police Station in Seoul announced that A was detained on charges of violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act. A is accused of supplying sedative anesthetics to Wheesung despite not being a medical professional. He was urgently arrested by the police on the 3rd.
On the 31st of last month, Wheesung was found collapsed after injecting sedative anesthetics in a restroom of a building in Songpa-gu, prompting police to respond. Two days later, on the 2nd, he was again found collapsed after drug administration in a building in Gwangjin-gu. Drugs and syringes were reportedly found at the scene. The police determined that the drugs Wheesung injected were sedative anesthetics not classified as narcotics and released him after investigation.
Meanwhile, Wheesung, who is currently suspected of habitual propofol use, is reportedly under investigation by the Gyeongbuk Provincial Police Agency on charges of narcotics use.
