[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Yuri] Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation)'s youth and newlywed specialized housing brand 'Cheongshinho' welcomes residents to its first housing complex, 'Jeongneung Haneulmaru,' for two months.
SH Corporation announced on the 6th that the winners of the Jeongneung Haneulmaru subscription, the first housing under the Cheongshinho brand, will move in from the 1st of this month until the end of next month, a period of two months. SH Corporation also explained that it will thoroughly implement quarantine measures during this period to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Jeongneung Haneulmaru was constructed on the site of the Jeongneung Sky row houses, which were disaster-risk facilities, with a scale of two basement floors and four above-ground floors, totaling 166 households. Among them, 108 units were supplied to youth, 25 units to newlyweds, and 33 units were allocated to the elderly and recipients of social benefits.
In the subscription application for Jeongneung Haneulmaru held in September last year, 3,145 people applied, resulting in a competition rate of 18.95 to 1. Although Jeongneung Haneulmaru was constructed before the development of the Cheongshinho specialized floor plans and thus did not apply these specialized layouts, built-in home appliances and furniture such as air conditioners, refrigerators, and bookshelves were installed in each unit. Additionally, community facilities such as a resident cafe, shared childcare room, coin laundry, and seasonal storage were enhanced. SH Corporation explained, "We made every effort to realize the core values of Cheongshinho: 'one more wall, one more room, one more step.'"
Kim Seyong, president of SH Corporation, said, "Following Jeongneung Haneulmaru, we will supply the second Cheongshinho housing, the Oryu-dong Community Center Complex Facility (Sopereum), within this year, and continue to grow the Cheongshinho brand specialized for youth and newlyweds to help alleviate housing difficulties for the younger generation."
