The Korea Quality Foundation, selected as the executing institution for the "2020 Intensive Training of Young Talent for Innovative Growth" project organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation, will conduct education in the fields of smart factory and artificial intelligence starting this month.
First, the "Intensive Training of Young Talent for Innovative Growth" project provides project-based education targeting job seekers in the IT and software (SW) fields, aiming to nurture core talents in the eight key industries of innovative growth and to resolve job mismatches based on employment linkage.
Among them, the Korea Quality Foundation was selected as the specialized training institution for smart factory and artificial intelligence fields among the eight innovative growth industries. Especially, having achieved the highest employment rate among the same project institutions in 2018-2019, it has started recruiting SW expert trainees who will lead the 4th Industrial Revolution in the Seoul metropolitan area, Chungcheong region, and Gyeongsang region, aiming for an employment rate of over 100%.
This smart factory and artificial intelligence training course will be held for about six months from May 11 to November 14 in five regions: Seoul, Busan, Daegu, Cheonan, and Andong. The project is divided into the "Smart Factory SW Developer Training Course" and the "Industry-specific Project-based AI Developer Course," where participants will learn practical skills such as developing smart factory operation module software and machine learning and AI algorithm development applied to manufacturing companies.
After completing three months of practical theory classes, trainees will proceed to an industry-academia cooperation project practice course involving more than 48 companies, including LG CNS, Hanwha Systems, POSCO ICT, and LS Industrial Systems.
Eligible participants for this training course are job seekers under the age of 34 and those expected to graduate before March 2020. Selected trainees will receive full tuition support free of charge. Additionally, participants can receive employment support programs through the Korea Quality Foundation’s Employment Support Center.
Accordingly, employment linkage services will also be provided through agreements with participating companies, based on resume, self-introduction letter, and portfolio workshops created together with current employees, including special lectures by IT sector HR managers.
Meanwhile, the Korea Quality Foundation is the first certification body in Korea to introduce the international management system and has about 3,000 certified member companies. It is currently conducting automotive quality certification for finished car companies such as Kia Motors and Renault Samsung Motors, as well as about 700 parts manufacturing companies. Leveraging the know-how and network accumulated through quality certification of the information and communication BIG4?Samsung SDS, LG C&S, SK C&C, POSCO ICT?and curricula developed with participation from industry professionals and experts, it also provides industry-customized education.
