Sejong Center 'Cheer Up Concert'... 16 Performances Live Streamed Online

[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Sejong Center for the Performing Arts will present 16 performances from the 7th to the 26th through the audience-free online broadcast performance "Cheer Up Concert (HimCon)".

"HimCon" is a project prepared by Sejong Center to comfort citizens exhausted by the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) and to support the performing arts sector, which has been severely affected by performance cancellations. It provides performance venues to performance groups and artists who have been hit by cancellations or postponements of scheduled performances, and supports all production and broadcasting costs to offer opportunities for "audience-free online performances." This "HimCon" was organized through a public contest based on canceled performances at Sejong Center and recommendations from the Arts Management Support Center, selecting a total of 12 teams including theater, musicals, and classical music.

The first live broadcast performance in April is the two-member rock band Billy Carter's "Billy Carter Concert (7th at 7:30 PM)." Debuting in 2015, Billy Carter is preparing an energetic performance with a unique musical style that blends various genres without boundaries based on blues. Also, the group ADOY, which presents various music based on synth-pop, will showcase a performance combining electronic music and visual art through the "VIVID Concert (10th at 7:30 PM)." The four-member band DTSQ, known for creating experimental and unique sounds, will also perform "Neon Coloured Milky Way (21st at 7:30 PM)."

Musicals adapted from movies and dramas of the same name can also be experienced. The musicals "Secretly, Greatly: THE LAST (16th at 3 PM)" and "Eyes of Dawn (24th at 7:30 PM)" will be held in the form of talk concerts where main cast members introduce the works and numbers and audiences can watch them.

For classical music fans, the "Opera Omnibus (24th at 3 PM)" offers the opportunity to enjoy major arias and ensembles from the four most beloved operas among Koreans?Carmen, La Traviata, Rigoletto, and Il Trovatore?performed by the Millennium Symphony Orchestra and vocalists. Additionally, the "Forte di Quattro Concert Only for You (27th at 7:30 PM)" by Forte di Quattro, the invited winner of Phantom Singer, will be showcased.

Performances for children are also arranged. The exciting science variety show "Hupungseoni Science Show Season 2 - Marie Curie vs Einstein (21st at 3 PM)" allows children to solve missions with TV scientists, enhancing their interest and fun in science.

This performance, broadcast live on Naver TV from April 7th, will be available for replay viewing until the end of May.
