[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Midam] Lee Geun-hyung, the Strategic Planning Committee Chairman of the Democratic Party of Korea, predicted on the 6th that "the difference between the public opinion poll results and the actual voting results will not be significant."

Chairman Lee appeared on CBS Radio's 'Kim Hyun-jung's News Show' on the same day and said, "I have spent almost my entire life working in fields related to public opinion polls."

When asked if the 'shy conservative' seemed to have decreased, he said, "It has been quite a while since the atmosphere changed where people like the Taegeukgi Unit no longer hesitate to reveal that they are conservatives," adding, "So acknowledging being 'shy' could be seen as a self-contradiction."

Chairman Lee also responded to the question of whether the Democratic Party is leading in the polls by saying, "Most of the current (poll) results show that," and added, "We will continue with a humble attitude to overcome this difficult situation together by pooling our strength."

Regarding the 'Cho Kuk frame' raised by the United Future Party, he said, "I understand the opposition party's desire to shake up the election in some way, but I don't know why Cho Kuk suddenly comes up. He is currently undergoing trial."

Chairman Lee described the significance of this general election as "having the nature of 'mid-term refueling' to supply fuel so that the Moon Jae-in administration can overcome crises during the remaining term," and appealed, "Please concentrate your power to firmly promote national crisis recovery and economic reconstruction."
