[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] "The new design language of the Genesis brand applied to the G80 is unique and elegant." "I was captivated by the cool and beautiful photos of the G80."

The newly released Genesis G80, launched domestically on the 30th of last month, is receiving high praise from major overseas media outlets. In particular, as attention is pouring in on the exterior design of the G80, some media have evaluated it as a "strong rival to the BMW 5 Series."

Hyundai Motor Group's media channel 'HMG Journal' introduced overseas media reactions to the new G80 in an article titled "Unveiled Genesis G80, Hot Interest from Foreign Media" on the 6th.

Foreign media first focused on the design of the G80. Automotive specialist media Motor1 stated, "The distinctive exterior first introduced through the GV80 has been well interpreted and applied to the sedan form," adding, "This design feels very fresh in the luxury sedan market dominated by German cars." The American automotive magazine Car and Driver also praised the new Genesis design identity, citing the large crest grille and quad lamps first introduced through the GV80 as examples.

Attention was also focused on the interior, completed under the theme of "the beauty of emptiness." The American automotive magazine Motor Trend emphasized, "The interior quality is not inferior to any competing model. Look at how the hazard lights and start button are applied to the dashboard wood trim." Road & Track gave the evaluation, "The interior has been greatly improved with a clean and minimal design and high-quality materials."

Not only the design but also the improved performance is being recognized. The new G80 applied lightweight materials such as aluminum to the body, reducing the curb weight by 125 kg, and secured powerful driving performance with a turbo engine producing 304 horsepower and a 3.5 turbo engine producing 380 horsepower.

Road & Track, in an article titled "The New G80 is a Strong Rival to the BMW 5 Series," evaluated, "The new rear-wheel-drive platform and the 375-horsepower 3.5 turbo engine will provide enjoyment," and Motor1 reported, "The third-generation rear-wheel-drive platform with a lowered center of gravity improves driving performance and offers a spacious interior."

Additionally, Autoblog mentioned "new engines and cool features," stating, "Genesis did not just upgrade the engine. It applied lightweight materials including aluminum, making it 125 kg lighter than the previous G80."
